At USA Engineering, progress has always been part of our DNA. Since our founding more than four decades ago, we’ve partnered with land developers and municipalities to help shape communities across Texas and beyond. Today, we’re proud to share an exciting milestone in our journey: the launch of the new USA Engineers logo.
This new logo represents more than a refreshed visual identity. It reflects who we are, where we’ve been, and where we’re headed next.
Built on a Strong Foundation
USA Engineering traces its roots back to 1982, when Unzicker, Schnurbusch & Associates, Inc. was founded in Dallas, Texas by David M. Schnurbusch and Paul S. Unzicker. From the beginning, the firm was built on technical excellence, integrity, and a deep understanding of land development challenges.
Over time, the company evolved into USA Professional Services Group and ultimately became known as USA Engineers, a name synonymous with trusted civil engineering and surveying. Across more than 40 years of operation, the firm has designed over one million lots and units, helping communities grow thoughtfully, efficiently, and sustainably.
Honoring the Visionaries
Our story would not be complete without honoring the individuals who shaped the company’s legacy.
David M. Schnurbusch, a graduate of the University of Vermont, was a respected leader in the Texas engineering community. His career was marked by excellence and recognition, including being named Young Engineer of the Year in 1990 and Civil Engineer of the Year in 1998. David’s passion for innovation and mentorship left a lasting impact on the profession and on USA Engineering itself. His passing in 2025 marked a profound loss, but his influence continues to guide our values and standards.
Paul S. Unzicker, co-founder and early visionary, helped establish the firm’s reputation for delivering smart, cost-effective solutions that serve both developers and municipalities.
We also recognize Scott Young, who played an important role as a partial owner of the firm before retiring and ultimately selling the company. A graduate of Texas Tech University, Scott built a distinguished engineering career rooted in technical excellence and service to the profession. In 1996, he was honored as Young Engineer of the Year, a recognition that reflected both his professional achievements and his commitment to advancing the engineering community in Texas. His leadership helped position USA Engineering for its next chapter.
A New Chapter Begins
That next chapter is now led by Dallas Cothrum, whose ownership signals both continuity and momentum. Under his leadership, USA Engineering is embracing growth, innovation, and renewed energy, while staying true to the principles that have defined the firm for decades.
The launch of our new logo marks this transition. It’s a visual symbol of evolution: modern, confident, and forward-looking, while still grounded in the legacy that built our reputation. The updated brand reflects how we work today, collaborative, agile, and committed to delivering practical, high-quality solutions in a rapidly changing development landscape.
Why a New Logo?
As our services, technology, and leadership have evolved, it was important that our brand reflect who we are now and where we’re going. The new USA Engineering logo represents:
Strength and stability, earned through decades of successful projects
Innovation, as we continue to deliver cost-effective and creative solutions
Clarity and confidence, matching the trusted role we play for our clients and partners
While our look is new, our commitment remains unchanged.
Looking Ahead
We’re incredibly proud of our past and even more excited about the future. As we enter this new phase, USA Engineering remains dedicated to supporting land developers and municipalities with the same reliability, expertise, and problem-solving mindset that has defined us since 1982.
The new logo is a celebration of growth, resilience, and possibility. It honors the legacy of those who built this firm while signaling our readiness for what comes next.
Thank you to our clients, partners, and team members who have been part of this journey. We look forward to building the future together, now with a fresh new look that reflects the strength of the USA Engineering name.
